Function

As a Mechanical Integration Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical integration of scientific instruments and satellites on a project level. Following integration procedures and standard processes, you will assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and subsystems together with harnessing to create functional hardware. In this task, you will be supported by the design and system engineers. Furthermore, you should be able to perform basic functional tests.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and validation of ground and critical flight hardware, including mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, test harnessing, and Ground Support Equipment; per associated drawings, procedures, quality standards and internal training.
  • Identify and communicate non-conformances to engineering and quality assurance.
  • Plan and execute assembly/subassembly basic functional and performance test campaigns in coordination with system engineering.
  • Perform first order assembly/subassembly fit checks.
  • Work with facilities and maintenance to ensure that production equipment is maintained and repaired in a timely manner.

Profile

  • You have a professional bachelor in mechanical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering or similar by experience.
  • You are very handy and have the technical insight to understand what is needed to build functional hardware.
  • You are meticulous, driven, and can perform when deadlines are approaching.
  • You are a team player and like to take initiative, you see problems as challenges.
  • You are able to read documents and communicate in English.
  • Soldering experience on electronic hardware is an advantage.
